Hi Mirjam,

I'm here also. How are you doing today? My kids are coming home from a long weekend with Grama and Papa later today. I'm so glad. I miss them. Right now, I'm just having my coffee and knitting a new sock.

Hugs,

Hesira

Good morning Mirjam. It's good to hear from you. It's a holiday Monday here in Canada, so it might be quiet here today. I have a family dinner late this afternoon and then they're all coming over here. So, I have to get busy, clean the bathroom and do some vacuuming.

I hope things are quiet there, but maybe that's too much to ask. I'll have to put CNN on and see what's going on. Wishing you quiet nights and days, and time for a walk. (smile)

Hi Mirjam, - I'm here too. Thought about you when I took my walk yesterday - was wondering if you can still move around your city or must you stay close to home and the shelter? I was watching CNN International and saw the terrible distruction of your cities. I'm still sorting out my possessions here, having moved from a large 2 story house where I lived for over 30 years into a small 4 room first floor condo. I'm finding old newspaper clippings and photos from many years ago. Is it possible the world was so much simpler then? Or that the communication systems were just so much more primitive? Hugs Joan

I didn't realize this was a holiday for my northern neighbors - what is the occasion? We don't have another holiday weekend until the first weekend in September. However that one won't be a time of rest for me as many relatives are coming to share DS#2's wedding and to visit with one another. That will include my grandchildren - so much joy but not exactly restful! Judy

Actually, there is an unassigned holiday during the summer. In Labrador West, we observed it last week, for Regatta Day. In other parts of the province, it is being observed today. Different provinces (and even areas) choose different days to observe it.

In Manitoba it's called a "Civic Holiday", observed on the first Monday in August. And, happy we are to have it. Now if our legislators would get their act together for a stat holiday in February...........

Good morning Mirjam. I'm here, just running a bit of a temperature, so haven't been on the computer too much. I hope things settle down in your part of the world real soon, and that you are soon able to walk about freely, and safely. Charmaine in New Zealand

Mirjam,

I am so glad to hear from you!!!!!

I can't stand to watch the news any more.

It is hard to believe how close we have become in this newsgroup.

I guess I am trying to say how great it is to hear from you today. Gail and I mention you every time we see the news.

My friend, SHALOM!

Hehe! I just resubscribed today after being away from the group for ages. Nice to see some familiar names.

Not sure how much time I can spend on the group with my business taking off, but I should be able to pop my head in now and again.

I've managed to spare time today as I've broken my ankle and am havign to spend my time sitting down. Enforced knitting hooray!
