Tania, I did not find any instructions. Did you think about SEWING a purse, or crochet or knit from old jeans? IF you thought ot sewing, I did a Google PICTURE search for " denim shoulder bags" and "denim shoulder purse" I got a lot of pictures. If you click on them, you'll get up te site they belong to, and MAY be you will find the instruction there.
AT LEAST you will be inspired, and see how to make your own version!
I could not find any picture of knitted or crocheted purses from denim strips.
Good luck! AUD ;-)
Ooooh, what a great idea! I never thought of using denim strips to knit...how about a quilt using all the different colors of denim? (aha! Another project!)
Cut off the legs, close the opening, add a lining and a strap?

I found a few URLs for you to look at. I hope they help. There is one for a "little" girl's purse, but I'm sure you can just use adult jeans to make it an adult's purse.

It is Not EASY to knit nore crochet with denim , jeans etc,,,, thus braiding and sewing it later might be prefferable .... mirjam
If you want a small bag , use one leg , if you want a bigger bag use the upper part of the pants ,,, Cut legs off, turn and sew holes ... cut wide strips for straps ,, and sew them sew them lengthwise double with indside out than turn it over ,, attach to place ,,,,, use second leg to make a cover for bag ,,,, mirjam who is a constant bagger [bag maker ]
I came across one just a couple of days here:

one involves cutting several pairs into strips to make the yarn, and then using that to make a basic knitted bag. It looks good, but is a lot more work then just cutting the legs off and sewing it all together.
