Hello Everyone-So Glad I Found You!!!

Wow, what a great group...I'm so happy I've found you! I have MANY questions about yarns & patterns (mostly crochet)...questions about reading patterns and different brands of yarn, most of which are not readily available at my local craft store. Right now, I'm in search of some tangerine and violet-red colors in worsted weight. I've searched Bernat, Caron, Lion Brand, Paton and the other usual suspects, but the color variety seems limited. I'd like to go with a wood blend (mostly acrylic for easy machine washing) or only wool if necessary, but softness is of utmost importance (I'm thinking along the lines of Caron Simply Soft or Bernat Satin). I have been able to find colors & fiber close to the ones I need at some of the online yarn stores (for ex. Plymouth Encore or Cascade 220), but I'm unsure as to the softness of these yarns. Also, I'm willing to pay more for the added quality. Anybody got any ideas or info...I'd really appreciate it.

Again, I'm looking forward to communicating with y'all...so.....

Happy Holidays to all, Andie

I made a crochet afghan with Plymouth Encore, and it's very soft.
