Knitting for Dummies

Has anyone used the above book in learning to knit? I haven't seen the book except on the Amazon Books internet site so don't know how useful their instructions would be. I am learning the basics but want to learn to do it right and also I would like to learn other knitting stitches. Dixie Sugar

Don't have a copy of the book, but it is available at Barnes and Noble. I would recommend I Taught Myself To Knit (available at Michael's/AC Moore). The instructions are easy to follow, and well illustrated. DA

I have it and like it okay. But for main references I pull open my Knitter's Handbook.

Dixie,

I have looked at the book for over 10 minutes at the book store, it is a great book. You will not be disappointed in it if you practice a little every day. Do not do marathon sessions as a beginner, it will not help. Keep it to a half hour or so.

Let us in the group know what you pick and what you think of the group so we can pass it on.

Very useful. Everything is simplified, and there are great tips there as well.

Have you checked to see what is in your public library? You may find a book that YOU like better, or learn enough from the books in the library, that you would rather spend your money on a more advanced book.
