knitting journal

Thanks so much, Lee!! My co-worker and I used to *love* reading that site. She'll be thrilled when I share it with her. :-D

I've jotted little notes about stitches and changes on the actual pattern from time to time, especially when I was knitting a lot. And as much of what I've made in my life I've given away I took some pictures just to remember the projects, but I've never had an actual craft journal.

A lot of what I've made over the years I've kind of made up as I went along. If I had kept a journal I wouldn't have had to do so many repitions when I decided to revive something or other a few years later.

OMG, I just about fell off the chair laughing at the pants/sweater on the chicken! HAHAHA

Thank you for posting the URL, Lee. ;o)

I keep a notebook (a school notebook that you can buy a package of 4 for .99c) that I write my own patterns in, but I've never added pictures to it. I do however draw sketches of what the finished item looks like... sometimes. ;o)

By the way... I love your quote after your signature. LOL I have a weird sense of humor! Like the time my Mom was reading from the newspaper that Marlena Deitrich (sp) fell off the stage into the orchestra pit while singing.... are you ready?... "Falling in Love Again". I was crying from laughing so hard at the irony of it. I told my Mom it was a good thing I hadn't been in the audience or they would have thrown me out because I wouldn't have been able to control my laughter.... and I have a LOUD and contagious laugh. LOL

you wouldn't believe how many people are asking me if i'm going to knit little sweaters for all my chickens now! *no!* i did joke about doing hats though. my main rooster froze the points off his comb last winter... lee

hehehe Can you see all the chickens running around with little sweaters on?

Awww, poor rooster! :o( I guess those of us who don't live on farms don't think about roosters/chickens and such as freezing during winter. I think I just assumed they stayed indoors when it's that cold out.

noooooooooo! :)

i usually give them the option to go out if it's not below

10F, or wet. if it's both cold & wet, they have to make do with being indoors. i had one window on the side opposite the prevaling wind that was open (it's only screen. the plexi cover disappeared) & the silly rooster roosted against the open window all the time. none of his hens got frostbit, or my other 5 roosters in a seperate pen (& their pen is on the windy side) we're debating insulating the chicken house this year, but i'll only do that if i can get some cheap operable windows, so i can control the ventilation. i'd rather lose a couple comb tips than have the whole flock get some kind of respiritory infection from closed quarters... lee
