Hello Mirjam!! I think what you came up with is my best bet.I will have to finish out the design first and then go back and sew it up or embroider. Taking it apart would just KILL ME to do. You would definitely understand if you saw it. The mistakes WERE that bad. I just kept on knitting away because I wasn't sure what to do about them. Not that keeping on knitting would help any...............But that is what I did. It is 3/4ths done actually. A lot of people over the years have seen it and wanted me to just stop where I am on and bind it off. I can't do that, clearly it would not look right.I have also thought of adding a back section to it, by stitching it into the ribbing on the sides. It will definitely be a lot of work. This would have been my most complicated project I have ever done. All the doilies I have crocheted are nothing compared to this knitted blanket!!!!!!!! Thank you Mirjam!! Fairwinner

Hello Tamar! Yes, I think what I will do is that. My son is now 20. He just turned 20 on Sept 9th. I still can't believe that!! So yes, for him it is a liitle too late!!!!! Much thanks! Fairwinner
Hi Katherine! You are too kind! They were bad. Still are. It was a bad day when she pointed them all out, let me tell you. She is very nice and did not mean to hurt or upset me. She isn't built that way. Right now she is in a nursing home recovering from a broken hip and leg from a fall there. She also has Altzheimers. It is a horrible thing to see, she doesn't remember anyone anymore. I have wondered if she would remember how to knit if she had the needles. You should see the things she has created!!!! I don't think I have ever seen such good work anywhere else. It is truly sad. I am sure if I had lived closer to her at that time the mistakes would not have occurred. Thank you!!! Fairwinner
Well, as long as she didn't make you stop knitting I won't be too upset.

And *can* she still knit, even though she has Alzheimers? I have never personally known anyone with this horribly sad affliction, so I would be interested to know if even one thing (like doing something that you have done almost your entire adult life) can still keep a person linked to who they used to be before having this set on them to erase other important memories.
Peace! Gemini
