Knitted a lovely sweater for my daughter, had the gauge right, measurements right - sent it off to her. She sent me a picture of it on her - it was HUGE! Waaaahhh. She sent it back, I frogged the whole thing, found a different pattern and reknit the sweater for her. 2nd time around, it fit fine. The yarn was Astra.... in a soft grey. I still have some yarn left and if I never knit with it again, it will be too soon (smile).

You would believe mine .... it was in the time i still knitted in pieces sewing them together ,, it was a raglan i put on the circular needle , 1/2 a front , a sleeve , another sleeve , a back another 1/2 front ,, and knitted making the raglan decresease at the proper places ,,,,, mirjam

Btw. I am working on a raglan, but this time I make each part ready all the way up, and then sew it together. Sounds that this is the safest way, or what do you say, Mirjam? AUD ;-)

I knitted a sleeve with all the increases only at the beginning of the rows and not the ends, and then wondered why it was such a funny shape!!

It is more a felting OOPS!! My NEW (!!) SonIL should get felted socks/slippers for Christmas.(not many days left!) I felted the socks. They were a bit too large. I decided to felt them once more! I was in a hurry when picking them out of the washer, and DH was watching (...normally not TOO interested...)

They were SO small that I had to stretch them AS HARD as I could, to get them big enough for nephew 5yo.

DH: Now you have a PROBLEM... hahaha!

I did a triangular 'shawl of many colors', just rows of different colors. I saw one like it in a Kaffe Fassett book, read the directions, and I was on my way. It kept getting wider and wider, but I figured that was how it should go. I finished it and added fringe and it was just gorgeous, but it ended up with the ends touching the floor when I put it on !!

I went back and checked the Kaffee Fassett book - it said to increase one stitch each row, and I had increased one stitch at each end of each row, two stitches per row. Wow, what a difference that one additional stitch makes !

This was also one of the two things I had made using a little of the Bernat yarn that was recalled bc it was flammable, so after it was done, I had to cut out the one row of that Bernat yarn, and reconnect the rows in the middle of the shawl.

Last week I finally started frogging it, keeping the colors in order, and I will have to start all over - I'd rather do that than have this beautiful shawl that I could never use.

Mine is the Wonderful Wallaby I'm currently wearing. In the adult instructions it has an increase just above the ribbing, then inc 2 more sts at the underarm to the required number of sts. On the first sleeve I didn't do the first set of increases, and didn't notice that I'd made the mistake until I was done with all the increases on the second sleeve. I could have frogged back and redone the second like the first, but it's really barely noticable, my mom knows, but only because I told her.

As amtter of fact Shelagh ,, it was during one of our wars and being uneasy with kids etc,,,, i knitted HALF the raglan before noticing ,, than i rippppppppppppped it mirjam

I have been on a Kaffe Fassett weekend workshop several years ago. This was a knitting one.

It was a very pleasing experience.

I will not bore you with all the details but I certainly learnt a lot that weekend. Shirley

My worst no no is a regular one for me. I blame the parents meself! I sew the damn thing up and realise I have sew the wrong bit to the wrong but. Of course I sew up so beautifully (:P) that I can't find my sewing stitches and end up cutting the wrong bits:(
