Knitting question

Hello and good evening. I am somewhat confused with casting on and off. I cast on just fine but my cast offs are a bit too tight. Does anyone have any ideas on how to solve this issue? Is it better to cast on and off in a larger needle? Please, any help and advice will do. Portia

Hallo Portia !! here it is midday now !!!! Thus i am having my coffee with you ,,,

I don`t know in which method you cast on , but i preffer to cast on with the Correct size needle . While for casting off i take a needle that is at least 2 European numbers [2 mm] bigger than the knitting needle ,,,, hopes it helps you as well ,,,, mirjam

Hello all. I tried the cast on method with a larger needle and it worked. I forgot to use a larger one wht regards to casting off. My I looked at the webpage for the castoff method that you recommended to me Linda. But, the one I use is better and easier. I can't understand how you do that. Since I can't see, it makes it hard if someone not sitting down and showing me. I just the method I learned. By just casting off. Knitting into pattern. knit or waht ever your pattern is knit first two stitches and slip the first off the needle over the second stitches and from then on, knit stitch and slip the one before it off. Some I forget one of the steps and it comes out way too tight.I have to kick myself for that. or
