My mossy scarf

Good morning! My name is Pam. I'm a 32 y/o mommy of a 4 y/o. And a nurse from Pennsylvania. I taught myself to knit from a book and I'm moving along fairly well. I can do the basic stuff but I haven't been able to knit cables or anything more advanced than ribbing. Oh no...wait! I did knit a button hole! Just for practice and it was glorious. Anyway I've been wanting a mossy green scarf so I bought a skein of super bulky forest green chenille and, with my size 17 needles, knitted it in one evening. I like the lacey look that the bigger needles produce. One skein was just enough for a nice sized scarf with fringes. I'll wear it out and about the town today and feel very pleased with myself. Although I don't think I'll use the chenille yarn too often. I prefer the look of Lion Brand Homespun when I'm doing the "lacey" thing. I used the Homespun to knit a giant coral scarf which I love. Although it is truely huge. People have scoffed. Oh well. So I'm trying to keep my first post/introduction brief so I don't bore you all right off the bat. I'll be back in the morning to tell you of my first disastrous knitting project. And on that cliffhanger, I bit you farewell. Because I can't spell Add-due.Pam

OK I'm "in"! I went to the dentist last week, he had to work so hard on me that I still have blue spots on my cheek, (but I don't think he do that to the nurses!) Anyhow, I was knitting in there when I was waiting for the anaesthetics to work! I think that qualifies me? Have I welcomed you, Pam, IF i have, "a good thing cannot be done to often"!

Aud ,, i mostly knit in waiting rooms ,, [if not i read or embroider] , it seems so rational to always have a handwork in my bag ,, of course since i knit complete sweaters , once they get a certain size it is a bit tricky to work on them in public ,,, 20 Something years ago we had a bad Inflation, and had to go to bank every day ,,, i jated thev long lines and knitted in order not to Shout out from nerves.... mirjam

Jeeeaann Tears Tears all over my cheeks as i came to knit together the front and back ,,, i found out that i made a MISTAKE in my calculation and the pattern won`t match up in the round ,,,, tear ,,, and than Rip rip ,,, now i bite my teeth and hope to knit up all this 19 cm of 92 stiches , till this evening ,,,, to be ready to knit in the round on my way to print House + 1 more artist tomorrow ,,,, tears blahhhhhh mirjam

**Lucky you! I had to frog nearly half an arm today, because I didn't check what sort of decrease I used on the other one!(was sitting listening to my Sister In Law) The decreases were different, and that is not nice on a raglan.... :-(

Aud ,, that is one reason i used to knit sleeves at the same time , when i still knitted them with seams ,,, Now i just make little notes on how the sleeve developes . My feelings for having to frog so much ,, jechhhn mirjam
