Freda, our "How are you lovie, or love" Sister in Law, taught me all about pinnies. Otto and I use many, English,(as in British Isles) slang words, courtesy of Freda, who grew up in London.

When we had our beginners spinning day a few weeks ago, which Els missed :-(( , we did some spinning on pencils. As a novice I found that really useful to get a good sense of what was happening with the fibre. It made it a lot easier to deal with the faster spinning on a wheel.

the thing with cockney rhyming slang Els is it doesn't always have to rhyme..but there are others Dog n Bone (phone) for another one...I used to know loads.. lived in London Kilburn Cricklewood and around that area in the mid sixties. Cheers....Cher

I was there for the Saturday teaching session. There are even pictures of Eimear on my website from that day. I am sure I still am not reading, or maybe understanding your posting Eimear. It is going to be one of those days....LOL

I didn't ever live in the East End (unlike DD2 who thinks it's a wonderful place to live; wouldn't catch me there for all the tea in China!) so my accent ( *I* don't have an accent!) is probably NW Kent with a tiny bit of Estuary English which I try to keep under control. I'd love to hear everybody's accents here, it just would be fascinating Love & higs Christine

lol know what you mean, I hated living in London anyway, I love the quiet rural life of the country, where the pace of life just ambles along... I did like Maidstone though working on the hop fields... what a job that was..but it payed my college fees..
