I'm back from a week in Israel - I see you have all been busy posting! I got to talk to Mirjam on the phone from Jerusalem (I didn't make it up to Haifa) Mirjam had kindly arranged for me to meet her "sister of the heart", Haya, in Jerusalem. She was exceedingly gracious to me and we had a great time. Guess what - we discovered we actually both were in Iowa City at the University of Iowa from 56-58 (I was there longer but those were the years we overlapped.)
On topic - While in Israel I went to the Knit and Nosh at a senior center. As suggested I took a recent knitting magazine and a small project. It was great fun with a good group of women at various stages of skill in knitting and crocheting. Haya teaches the group. She was wearing Mirjam's moebius hat! It really worked out well and was admired by all.
Our trip was great. There is so much to see and the weather was fantastic. I have to hope they do get the winter rain that is so necessary but the beautiful sunshine was appreciated by my husband and I as we walked around in Jerusalem quite a bit.
