i had a moment of insanity & bought 4 skeins of Orenburg laceweight (80% kidd mohair 20% silk), 2 are natural & 2 are handpaint in pale green, tan, grey, pale blue (the Cherry tree Hill Spring Frost colorway). the natural is 500 yards/50 grams & the Spring Frost is 600 yards/50grams. i'm fairly competent, & not afraid of a challange, but i'm also a "combination" knitter (i normally knit through the back loop). while i can knit "properly" it tends to require more concentration than i can generally spare. i'm looking for patterns, preferably free, to use this stuff to it's best adavantage. i like shawls, but will entertain other ideas. thanks, lee
