Hi all!
THIS IS LOOOONG!! So If you don't want to spend all that time, jump to next message! ;-)
I have returned from my "Summer-Christmas-Holiday" at Tenerife!
We lived in a little former fishing town called Los Christianos, a very charming place.
We had nice, but NOT very warm weather the first days, but we are dressed for the sun(LOL, a but chilly in the wind, but warm enough on the beach) we were able to stroll kilometres along the beach, here from Playa Las American, which is the "new" "elongation"(?can I say that?) of "our town" Not quite correct, this part was built west of Los Christianos , started in the seventies, for the tourist, and is to my opinion a bit "Plastic Fantastic" LOL!
Wonderful to sit out in the evening,
One day we drove to the town La Laguna near the capital Santa Cruz. This is a Medieval Town, on UNESCO's World Heritage List, well preserved houses from as early as the fourteen hundred, in the older parts. The first Capital, Now the Canary Islands University Town.
Two days later we had a fantastic drive up to the mountain Teide. We did NOT take the gondola to the top, partly for health reason (DH's heart condition) and partly because there were SO many people waiting to get up;-)
Here we have left los Christianos by boat, for a whale safari!!
(But first the ship nearly bottled up because we all were sure we saw our first dolphin.but it was no dolphin, it was a big pale green plastic bag! )
The Week has gone, we went home to DD, and January 1. went home from her by "hurtigruta". I had forgotten my knitting, but watching and reading is nice to!
Higs'
Aud ;-))
