OT: cousins' upcoming visit, then my trip (ick!) north next

My cousin Fran will be here in middle TN next week, I'm so excited I could s*it myself! Not as excited about our trip later in the month, northward, its our second in two years, and I said originally ONCE every FIVE YEARS, so I guess this means I don't have to do it again for TEN, now after this, right????? :D Noreen

Enjoy your visit with your cousin, Noreen. :o)

I had hoped to be able to visit my cousin this coming weekend and have her and her son Liam come here to our home on Monday after he finishes work... then stay Monday night, and Tuesday night (Matthew is having a birthday barbeque pool party with 3 or 4 friends). and we would take them home again on Wednesday so Liam could go back to work on Thursday. However, Linda isn't feeling well at all (in fact she hasn't been all that great in the past few weeks) and adjusting her medications hasn't helped much. She has a couple of good days or sometimes just a few good hours, then it hits her very hard again... and I'm sure this heatwave isn't helping her at all. I have the horrible feeling that the doctors may have been close to the mark when they gave her three months (back at the end of April), and that the end may be very near now. :o(

Linda had hoped to make it for one more Christmas with her beloved son, but I seriously doubt that will happen. The last time we spoke, three weeks ago, she really sounded weak. She prefers to phone me, because she often isn't up to talking and doesn't want me wasting a phonecall... so we keep updated on how she's doing when her son Liam chats with Matthew online. She sent me a very brief email last night saying that she would try to phone me tonight around dinner time. I sent one back to her saying if she wasn't up to it to just ask Liam to let Matthew know, and for her to not bother and just rest instead. Well, I went to the pool to cool down shortly before dinner time (as I know when Linda and I do talk, we end up on the phone for hours and I wouldn't be getting back in the pool afterward as it would be very dark by then)... and just as I was thinking about getting out to get dried off for my phonecall from Linda, Matthew came out to the pool to tell me that Liam had contacted him to let me know that his mother is really feeling bad today and she would *try* to phone me tomorrow night instead.

To be honest, even though it could be the last time I get to talk with her, I half dread the phonecall because I don't want to say goodbye to her. If we lived closer (like 30 - 60 miles away from each other) I could go and see her and sit with her, even while she sleeps so she would know I was there... but living so far away from her just breaks my heart. So Noreen, if this is the cousin you spoke about before who you were close to... enjoy her visit and hug her tightly and tell her you love her. :'o)

Please add a prayer for my sister-cousin Linda Cronan tonight!

*hugs* Gem sitting here in tears.

Just an add-on to something I said, that I meant to put in that first paragraph.... Linda actually said herself in her brief email to me last night that now is not a good time for us to visit or for them to visit us here, because she isn't doing well. :o(

Anyone reading this... please send out some good vibes, or prayers if you pray, for my cousin Linda Cronan. I really do feel her time with us is coming to an end fairly soon. :'o(
