OT: Google ads

Hi Everyone,

For the ones of us who use google do you ever stop and read the ads. along the right hand side of the screen? Someone mentioned it one day and now I do and I sit here and chuckle about what they put there. For example I read the note from Noreen about Christy and her visit to Japan. Well, the ads were for Christy's auctions, others if you are ill and mention what is wrong, up pops ads for medicine. They also do the yarns, but some of them aren't even online any longer. Just thought I'd share these with you.

Hugs,

Nora

I use Google and always check out the sponsored sites. On another group we were discussing silk kimono scraps and several good sources came up. Most times they are just humorous.

Nora, I do not even look at the ads - just ignore them completely as I find I do not have the time - but since your post I just might have a look at some god Bless Gwen

Yes, Nora, when I was using Google to read the group, I DID notice the ads 'cause sometimes they were really funny ... especially when we really got off topic and talked about health-related or women's-health related problems! LOL

I have Google ads on the links page of my felted bag pattern website and sometimes they posted the strangest things...yesterday morning the ads were for Honda's. And my keywords are yarn and knitting related.

Just to let you know, I was looking up a knitting blog and there was a google ad for John Malkovich Knits. I thought, OMG, He knits???? So I clicked, but it was just a site for a clothes line he supposedly designed. But can you imagine John Malkovich with a set of needles and yarn? Who knows, maybe he does knit.

LOL, Hesira

I can't recall *where*, but I there's a list somewhere that shows all the celebrities who knit and or crochet, etc, and it includes the *rumoured* knitters too, who, although everyone THINKS they do, don't. Noreen
