After I sent my previous post from Google groups, it did not appear in the message listing, even after I shut down and restarted my browser, then navigated back to google groups. It did not even show up when I tried this in chrome.
However, the message did appear in my regular newsreader, pan (the newsreader for Linux) rather quickly. Perhaps that is the first step in Google dropping usenet newsgroups entirely and just going to google groups exclusively.
