I am making my first sweater and the instructions say purl row even. Normally I just see purl row, is there something I am missing?

It could mean that the knit rows are uneven numbered rows and the purl ones the even numbered rows Padishar?

Are you increasing or decreasing in previous or subsequent rows? You will often see "work even" until there are so many rows or a certain length, which means there are no increases or decreases. DA
It means to purl the row without making incs or decs.
