Have been knitting for years. Doing some ski helmets for 4 year old twins grandsons. This particular pattern is really hard to find. Have a pattern whick uses different yarn and needles. I am thinking that if I do a swatch and fine out what my gauge is, I can make a new pattern by going proportionate numbers of cast ons, etc. Am I missing something? Are there any good resources for changing patterns around like this? Thank you so much.

I just make my gaugue , and calculate my own patterns , if using a pattern i just take the Stich pattern and adjust it to my measurements ,mirjam Still lately , i got a pattern where it didn`t work ,,, but i suspect i didn`t think quite well about it ... will try again after this Rush week ,, mirjam
