Somebody sent me this site ,, it is a great site, but i would take some claims there with a pinch of salt ,,,, She calims her Moebious is the Original ,,,,,, so many people worked out how to do it ,,,,, And Elizabeth Zimmermann is really the firstr to introduce the idea into knitting ,,,,, [using an invisible seam]. mirjam

I know, Mirjam, I've been to this site, and was aghast at her claims to many other things as well, but I'm not one to point fingers when three are pointing back at me..... Hugs, Noreen

Who was pointing anything at you??? dear Noren ,,, i will return to that site and see if there is anywher to write to her ??? her patterns are good , but she didn`t make the first ,, not nice ... mirjam

Mirjam just an 'expression', nobody was pointing, grin. Yes, I have Elizabeth's book with her first moebious. Hugs, Noreen

Then there's Cat Borhdi, who, I believe, was the first to develop a seamless moebius. That's pretty cool too.

The mobius hat sounds very interesting, I will look forward to hearing more about that. I'll check out the site too, thanks for the link. Marie and the cats

Who is she Never heard of her ??? mirjam

snipped-for-privacy@actcom.co.il (Mirjam Bruck-Cohen) spun a FINE 'yarn' n news: snipped-for-privacy@ar.news.verio.net:

She's a designer who has books out on circular knitting as if she invented it, Mirjam. HTH, Noreen

She wrote a book about knitting socks on two circular needles. Here's her website...

I never got that impression about her.

Sue, Didn't mean to offend. It's just that EVERYTHING OLD is NEW AGAIN. Toe up socks aren't 'new', my gramma did it this way in the late 1899 and into the 1940's. Socks on two circs aren't 'new' either, my aunt figured that out back in

1950. Socks on one long circ, well heck, I figured that out in 1976....and I'm sure others did before me! That's the only point I meant. Noreen

Thank you Sue i will check that out ,,,, ' And there are really many things that our foremothers did ,,,, and than suddenly we see somebody claiming `she/he invented it ` ,,,, when speaking about seamless knitting i don`t say i invented it ,,, i say the truth that somehow i figured it out for myself before i recieved Margaret Hubert`s book ,,,, her book helped me to stabilize waht i figured out for myself ,,,, mirjam

Right, she developed *a* method for a seamless moebius. I don't know of anyone else who has though...

sue

Suzee i calculated a way to makew a seamless Crochet Moebious and RIA worked out how to knit it ,,,, none of us take priority,,, we were just happy to calculate and work it out ,, and SHARE it with others .. Elizabeth Zimmerman , may she rest in peace in Thread Heaven , would write she unvents things ,,, mirjam

snipped merciliessly: "suzee" spun a very FINE 'yarn' in mssg: news:4378ac0d$0$81695$ snipped-for-privacy@authen.yellow.readfreenews.net...

Phew, Sue! There's enough discontent in the world without US being misunderstood, etc! Glad to have attempted an explanation, and happier still for your okey dokey! :D :D :D Noreen

I've heard that. And good for you for figuring it out too.

sue

Heh. I was called the `voice of reason' by someone on another newsgroup last week. lol I just try not to make waves while getting my thoughts across.

sue

Toe up socks have been done... more or less since there _were_ socks. They date back to before knitting.
