That's real close but no, that's not it. They don't even have this yarn listed on the Caron website. Must be very new or very old...not sure which.

Thanks!!

Noreen,

I actually did reply to you but the reply was 'bounced' back to me.

The yarn is actually Caron Simply Soft Shadows. If you get the Herrschners catalog or view it on line. It is the catalog with the taupe, teal and white afghan and pillows on the front. The shrug I like is on the inside of the front cover...bottom right.

Thanks for all your help.

Did you try using the "Contact Us" on the Caron website to send an email about the pattern?

Of course not.....that would make too much sense....however, I will do that....

Thanks

I think this is a new yarn. I saw it in the new Mary Maxim catalog, but Caron doesn't even have it at their site yet. Ooooh. Maybe the pattern is in the catalog.... There *is* one there. It looks very much like a `knit two sleeves and pick up stitches around the edges' shrug pattern. Maybe it's available at the MM website. And the yarn has an interesting tweedy stripe effect. Hmmm......

To whomever suggest that I contact Caron about the pattern...Thanks!! I did it and they responded that it is a new yarn and not on their website yet. However, they offered to send me a copy of the pattern.

You people are soooooooooooo smart and always extremely helpful.

Thanks again Carol

Also, yes that is it on the Mary Maxim website; however, the yarn is priced at $2.97 a skein at Herrschners a little less than Mary Maxim's. I had forgotten all about Mary Maxim.

Excellent, Carol! And now you have told us, so Caron just got a pile of free publicity - the best kind, from a satisfied customer.

You're welcome, Carol. I had noticed the "Contact us" when I was searching the Caron website, without success, for a shrug pattern. It's great to hear that they responded.

If they don't hate me when everyone starts asking for free patterns....
