Rosie's Yarn Cellar is in Philadelphia - they have a great website and come recommended by bloggers (I haven't been yet.)

One word of caution in locating Rosie's. It is literally in the basement of a rowhouse, albeit accessable from the street from Locust.

Another shop relatively close by is Loop - 1914 South Street

In the heart of the fabric district is Sophie's Yarn at 713 S. 4th Street.

Snooty Chestnut Hill has The Knit With Yarn shop at 8226 Germantown Avenue. This place is not anywhere near the shops above--you'd have to drive there.
