Any yarn shops in Portsmouth NH?

DH is going to a two-day conference starting tomorrow evening in Hampton New Hampshire and on the spur of the moment I decided to go with him and have a relaxing few days. I will have all of Friday and some of Saturday to myself, so does anyone know of any good yarn shops in Portsmouth, which looks to be about 15 minutes away from Hampton?

TIA!

I don't know of any in Portsmouth, but Concord isn't that far away; I recall that there's a good yarn shop there, and there's another good one up north in Laconia, which isn't all that far away - just scoot up the Interstate to exit 20 and go north from there, it's on Main Street. I believe one of them is the Elegant Ewe, I forget the name of the other one.

um, yes. the Yarn Basket, 18 Ladd St (it's an alley size street that runs behind the parking garage). the store is *tiny*, but the people are very nice & they have a decent selection for such a small store.

there's also a nice yarn store in Dover, which isn't that far from Hampton either. Spinning Yarns, 511 Central Ave Dover (that's the main street. the shop is near the railroad tracks so it's one of Boo's favorite yarn stores). i've heard there's a new store in Hampton Falls on Rt.1 but i haven't been out that way recently to check it out. it's called Knitworking. i'd suggest Elegant Ewe, but that's probably a 45 minute drive from Hampton. it's in Concord. if you'd be yarn shopping Friday i might be able to drive out & say hi. lee

Patternworks is in Centre Harbor. I have no idea how far that is from Portsmouth though.

Portsmouth, you definitely have to go eat at The Friendly Toast (121 Congress St). Funky decor and the food is fabulous (I love places that serve breakfast all day!). Enjoy your trip!
