S'been a most distressing couple of weeks, and would like to come and dangle my feetsies too.

A dear young gal I know (only 37, with 2-kids and DH), passed away yesterday afternoon. We'd been preparing for it, for aalmost 2-weeks now. We are feeling sad for DH and the kids. It seems such a waste, and so exasperating. Seems she drank quite heavily, at home when no one was around, and her liver finally couldn't take it any more. Sooooo young.

Then last Saturday evening, DS was arrested ... domestic abuse. We had to refuse bailing him out, as he really needs help. Yeah, it's been a long and tough road with him for over a decade now. On the bright side, we're in high hopes some of this counseling will help ... although we all went thru 2-yrs of that many ages ago, so we're still pretty skeptical here.

Other than all that ... things are actually pretty smooth on the homefront. I've just about got a RR finished and ready to be on her way soon. Have made some quilted pouches, and have half a dozen more I'd like to get done in the next week and a half or so. Housekeeping looks pitiful, but who cares! Laundry looks even worse, but lots of clean stuff yet.

I missed seeing Tia Mary on her visit. I must've been in the cities at the hospital, or in between somewhere. Hi Tia Mary!!! Wasn't that BlueBerry Festival awesome? Heard there was more people than ever there ... 40,000 or more that entire weekend!!! (Hmmmm ... maybe it's a good thing I missed it???)

I'd better get out of this pool now, B'fly. ThanX for the soak, and the chat. I really needed both, I guess.

Whew, good thing that beach is there and not here!!! I've been having to shutdown and unplug 'puters in between thunderstorms, and more tomorrow too.

Yummy dinner, BTW. Chowed it all before getting home, and that rhubarb cheesecake was delish!!! MMMm

Wellllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll, we had dinner IN the swimming pool :-D Like DH said: " A real FIRST for us" hehehheheee We even had REGULAR dishes and forks and plastic cups ((no glass by the pool is allowed)) and dined in fine style Boys did it all--even took everything back into the house and cleaned up, too. I can't travel anywhere. Lori is making me work way to hard on a project for my color class. Besides, with her out of the state, who will keep an eye on things while she is gone? They certainly couldn't do without both of us at the same time!!! I appreciate the offer though!!!

Tonight my DH was preparing a family dinner (cornbread, new potatos, fresh beans, black eyed peas, fresh tomatos, corn on the cobb - my favorite summer dinner) when I had Lori call to tell them to please clean up, the ladies would be there for a color class workshop just when he planned to be serving dinner. He took it like a champ and we'll have this wonderful dinner on Sunday night.
