Are there any must see shops in the Dallas area? DD, DH and I will be there from December 28 through January 1. DD's high school band will be performing at the Cottonbowl game this year.
Not sure of what kind of extra time we will have but I want a back up just in case.
When I visited a few years ago we hit a few shopts. One in particular, I can't rememb rthe name but I liked the shop a lot...I wanna say Quilt Maker or Quilt Master something like that???? It had a LOT of color as opposed to some shops I have been in that have such muted color fabrics that they all seem dusty and old to me.
With dates like that you may find many of them closed for the New Years holiday but hopefully not.
I got my happy list of suggestions fo rmy trip from teh gals here so hopefully you'll get a lot of suggestions as well...

There are others, but these are the bigger ones. In Dallas, or very close, Quiltmakers and The Old Craft Store are must-see shops. Just north, if you're driving down via Hwy 75, The Quilt Asylum is next to the highway in McKinney. Quilt Country is near I-35 in Lewisville. Just south of Dallas about 25 miles, Common Threads in Waxahachie is charming, right on the square near the old courthouse. If you come to Arlington, just west of Dallas, I'll meet you at Lone Star Quilts; I know where the chocolate is! ;-D
Ragmop/Sandy --remembering that JJ's son went shopping for her at Quiltmakers via my directions; she loved it and had to visit there when she was here 2 yrs. ago ;-)
