Sophia, did you have a lot of snow 2 weeks ago? Here we had only a little bit, about 2 cm, and it was very watery. The snowmen in my neighbourhood were brown from the mud, in stead of white. But I heard that on the west side of Brussels there was much more and better snow.

Hi Ria, we did indeed have a lot of snow and it was so beautiful. Very fluffy and white but the morning after it had become mounds of ice and very slippery and we had to escalate every bit of sidewalk and it wasn't funny anymore :-(. But I still love snow, I'll never learn. Sofia D (from Brussels with love :-)

X-No-Archive:yes

More of that beatiful stuff is due to arrive here in Central CT early Friday morning. The local 'weathermen' are predicting 6-10" of heavy wet snow and we've still got a couple of inches on the ground from the last storm.

Oh I love the snow, Sofia (looking at it from inside, considering that I have a tendency to slip and fall if I have to walk on it), I was just teasing Norma that she could keep it. :o) I personally like something about each of the four seasons of the year. Not wild about constant rain when it goes on for days and days at a time, but I usually try to stay inside with my drapes closed so I don't have to see what a dreary day it is out there... and I don't really like the bad humidity in the summer as it affects the pains I get from Fibromyalgia, but the rest of the weather I can handle. I was able to handle the humidity this past summer a bit, but only because I could go in our swimming pool and cool off and loosen up my muscles a bit.

Getting back to the snow... of course my son doesn't like having to shovel the laneway all the time (sometimes three or four times in one day, like one solid week of it like that last year), but I have no problem driving in it. I have even been known to drive in blizzards where there were total white-out conditions with no problems. It's the other drivers that you have to watch out for... some of them think they can just continue driving along at the same speed and the same closeness to other vehicles as they do when there is no snow or ice on the roads. There is a perfectly straight road that leads out of my town, and during bad storms in the winter we have passed 15 to 18 vehicles in ditches all along that road. It doesn't really take a lot to just hold your steering wheel straight and keep to a steady speed without getting to close to the vehicle in front of you.... I have never had a problem on that road, and neither did my Dad when he used to drive it everyday going to work in the city.

LOL YAY... I haven't had a good snowball fight in many years!

Seriously though... I do hope we get some more snow for Christmas. I doubt that what is down now is going anywhere... it's way too cold for it to melt. But it would look prettier and more Christmas-like with at least 6 more inches of snow, if nothing else. We had a bit of frost on the van window this morning that needed to be scraped off, but that's it. It must not be quite as cold today as it was yesterday though, because yesterday I couldn't see out the window beside the computer through the very thick frost that was on it all day... today there is nothing on it at all.

Yup, here I come! So watch out! I'm just down the street behind that big tree! I'm wearing camo gear so you can't see me. LOL It's snowing again! and I will have to go out once again to do the yard and driveway. Takes about an hour or so, but my chest muscles are so sore from reefing on the lift bar on the tractor to lift the snow blower. I suppose some would say I shouldn't complain. At least I get to sit down on the job! LOL

ROTFL You know, the last time I threw a snowball at anyone before Matthew came along, I was 17 and I threw one at a cute guy I had a crush on who boarded around the corner from where I lived as he was walking by. We used to hang out together and walk home from the restaurant and movies together... as just friends. I whipped the snowball at him when he was almost at the corner and it actually hit him straight in the back of his neck and some of it went down inside his shirt to his back. He just turned and looked at me, then started running after me. We were laughing like crazy and he caught me in front of my house, threw one arm around me holding my arms down, and reached down with the other hand to grab some snow... he put it inside my sweater down my back. Of course that was FREEZING cold so I screamed just as my Dad was backing the car out of our laneway. He stopped... looked at us... realized we were laughing and just shook his head and drove off. LOL That was a fun time of my life! ;o)

It's been snowing (light powder) here for about an hour or so... it's so fine that it hasn't really added up to much.... YET. Of course if it keeps up all night, we could have a bit to drive through in the morning.

Matthew is going to a work Christmas Party tomorrow night, and at the moment isn't sure if he will be coming home or staying in the city overnight. The weather *could* make up his mind for him depending on how bad it gets, if at all. One thing for sure, I won't be going out shovelling it. If it's light enough, I *might* (depending on how I feel) sweep it off the deck, but I'm not touching the laneway.

Good luck with your doctor's appointment, Jenny. I hope for your sake that you've just pulled a muscle and that it isn't arthritis. At least with a pulled muscle you'll know that it will go away in a few days with proper care.

My dogs love the snow too... well the big baby does anyway, Buffy is at the point now where she just walks out the door and you can almost see "Oh no!" on her face, but she gets off the deck and Casper is leaping and bounding all over the place kicking up the new fallen snow and having a blast.... while Buffy just looks at him like "Yeah, yeah... get away from me!" LOL

Gem>> I didn't even like it much when I was a kid. oh well, guess it's time to >> go plow...

We got a few inches last night (4-6") here in NE Indiana. If the plow guys would actually PLOW the snow instead of driving through it with their plows up, the roads might be a little better (I plow snow at the park where I work, so I know from plowed roads). I have a dog show in Kalamazoo at 4, so I have to dry my clothes, clean out my jeep, shower, and wash Beau before 2....

Am down to THE LAST CHRISTMAS SCARF!!! Using size 11s and bulky yarn, but it WILL be done by the 17th. Only have to sew up some spiderman pillows for my nephew and paint gift boxes and I'm done.

also found a good digital camera on clearance last night for $125 instead of $300. I think it was the demo model. that's fine by me...

4.1 megapixel 3x optical zoom cybershot... better than my 5 year old HP photosmart (now it's Dad's 5 year old HP photosmart for ebaying some of his motorcycle parts).

I bought my Jeep just so I could still make it to dog shows in bad weather. It's also nice for getting to work... but that's just a side benefit.

Sounds like my sister and I when we were kids and swimming. If you dared to splash her - look out! LOL

LOL And did she get out of the water when it started to rain too? I actually knew people who would do that. ROTFL I would get out when I heard thunder or saw lightning off in the distance, but not a light summer shower.

LOL You know, my older sister was what my Mom used to call a "Penny shivers"! It would be middle of a heat wave and Carol would say "Daddy PLEASE take us to the beach, it's so hot!" He would say "Everytime I take you, you don't go into the water anyway." Carol would say "Yes, but it's SO hot. PLEASE Daddy, I'll go in the water!" So he would give in and take us to the beach (9 miles away, so it wasn't a big deal)... Carol would get out of the car, walk toward the water, put one foot barely in the water and stand there shivering all over and her lips would actually turn blue. She would end up sitting on a blanket with a towel or another blanket wrapped around her if she didn't have a sweater with her to put on over her bathing suit, while my brother Frank and I would be in the water having a blast for as long as we could stay there. ;o)

Carol was one of those people who would get ticked off if you splashed her too... so I know the type well. hehehe

Uhhh.... or would that be "Pinny shivers"? I think this might be right... it sounds more like the way my Mom used to say it.
