Katherine did a much better job of it.....I am contandly learning. While I am typing there are so many words I need to look up, and sheers was one of them.. You can say shears, as in clipping shears and there are a couple of other definitions. I find it confusing. Speaking English is one thing...spelling and writing it is another.

Sounds great, I will exchange you for a wooden turned bowl Otto makes. See how easy I am with sharing stuff, that someone else makes. Otto is laughing, he is sitting behind his computer playing a game. It is OK, but the bowl his is making right now, needs to cure slowly and dry a bit more, so it does not crack, (fast drying will make it crack) He hopes you are not in a hurry....LOL

So do I, we do not have any though, we have drapes for the cold winter days, and we have some bamboo curtains for when it get to sunny at breakfast time, otherwise no sheers other than for using with the felting process.

Yes you are right, my sister crocheted some once with lovely figures of people in them. They were more for decoration than for privacy.

I made DD1 a filet cafe curtain once with butterflies on it. I did it in panels and adapted the pattern from a cross stitch pattern. She was living in a back to back house with some friends and it did mean that the people across the alley couldn't see them in their nighties first thing in the morning. It took ages and a whole lot of graph paper and no 10 cotton. She loved it, but it's too small for the windows where she is now. And no I'm not making curtains for those windows, there's not enough thread in the world for me to do that!! Love Christine

Could you incorporate the lovely curtains, with say panels of material, I bet they are glorious. I love curtains like that. They have a lovely way of letting light in and creating all kinds of neat patterns on the floor or ceiling when the sun shines in.

The grandmother of a friend of mine used to make the most beautiful filet crochet. I have tried, and, while I CAN do it, it is not nearly as lovely as hers was.

We all specialise in different things, that makes it so nice to admire other peoples crafts.

I saw a filet crochet curtain pattern from around 1884 that had a picture of a mouse. It seemed an odd choice.
