Sunday coffee

Since nobody else has done it, I'll post this morning :)

I'm on my second cappucino, have pushed four loads of laundry (not that I've folded any of it, mind), and have tidied two of four rooms that really need the Big Shovel taken to them. I'm waiting for somebody to come look at toddler furniture that can go live elsewhere now that my toddler is in Grade 2 :D I may or may not be outfitting a

4-week old infant for a trip to Colorado, her mom should be back with me shortly. I have scads of infant stuff in the stash (booties, booties, lots of surprise jackets, etc) but no mitts, tho that shouldn't be a problem for a 4wo.

I'm once again knitting the shoulders on the Circumnavigated Cardi. I still need to spin a good three bobbins to ensure I have enough yarn to finish the thing. I am resisting the urge to break out the new Kureyon or the new Nashua, because I still have three half-pairs of socks waiting for mates. The damned sweater keeps thwarting my plans

- it should have been finished by Christmas, which would have left me ample time before wrist surgery to finish the socks. Oh well...

I scoured four fleeces during the past week, which I'm going to send out for processing. I have two fleeces kept back, which I'm going to process by hand: A Gotland (from the Gotlands, not an Aussie Gotland) which I'll card, and a champagne-colored Romeldale that is screaming to be combed.

I think that's it. Off to pull another cappa, then maybe some knitting, now that my chores are in hand...

Good day to you:>) I worked until 2:30 this morning, home by 3, read for a bit before falling to sleep, so This is my morning, even though it is just past noon here!:>)

I've had my breakfast & working on my first cup of coffee for the day. Today I must get the rest of the decorations down & put away & take this tree to the mulching drop off. After that, it's time for me:>) I started the sleeves for Marshall's sweater last night at work. If TV is any good tonight, I just may finish them. I'm working days all this week, so there won't be much knitting getting done there:>( Oh well, I guess that's really not what they are paying me for anyway, is it?(LOL)

Well, Your day has been so productive so far it's really given me a boost, so I'll go now & start may day as well:>)

Have a great one!

A bit lazy here today - just getting up and it is almost 8am. DH is on a short trip to St Louis. He will be back this afternoon.

I stayed up fairly late last night finishing up some hats to send to Afghans for Afghans for their kids' hats appeal - they have a chance to get some flown over this month. I just did some of the toddler size simple ribbed beanies from odds and ends of Dale yarn left in my stash. Kids like stripes, so these are a good way to make use of small balls of various yarn left over from color work on sweaters.

I need to finish up my basement cleaning effort. I have a bunch of patterns and am checking to make sure they have all their pieces before donating them. I will keep the doll clothes patterns but the kids stuff goes to the local thrift store. I found a pattern that had knitting as well as sewing directions in the size of one of DGD#3's favorite dolls - so I will probably use up some stash on a couple of items for her. She loves little surprises that just arrive without occasion. Four year old's are really excited about receiving mail.

I am working along on DH's vest in between things. I plan to get the back done and then check again to see if it will fit him properly before proceeding with the rest of it. I think it should but I went down a size to accommodate the guage, so I want to check it before getting too much further.

I am waiting for some the Dale neon Falk to make a sweater for my GDG#2. She likes the bright color and I found a pattern that should fit her well. She is in that in between period (just about 12 years old) and is a bit trickier to please.

Hi Everyone,

Just back from church. I have the day to myself (what? how did that happen). DD went to spend the day with the"Babcie" and the men are at a TORHS Hockey Tourney in Pennsylvania. I peeked on the website and they are in first place and will play the championship game this afternoon. I guess my son played well, even though he is still sick. Nothing stands in the way of hockey, you know. School, now thats another subject. :)

Finishing laundry from last night, having some lunch, then to sit and crochet this afternoon. I should get my clothespin bag finished for sure.

It is such a sunny, glorious and warm day today. I have lots of energy on days like this, gets you out of the winter doldrums.

Have a great Sunday!

Diane

Good afternoon,

The sun is out and DH and I are both feeling better so we'll be going out in a little while. I usually don't crochet until evening so just catching up on here, and hoping that Google is behaving and will post this. LOL If it does seem to be working, I'll be posting a note for a New Secret Project to start 2006.

Hugs,

Nora

Good afternoon. I got up this morning, and sewed a couple of pieces together, then went to church and out for lunch. Now I am home, and about to start felting some things. I always find felting interesting, as I am never sure how it will turn out. Have a great day, everyone! Higs, Katherine

We've had breakfast, sat with coffee watching the weather network, and are now getting ready to go outside. Since the weather is still mild for January, there will be more wood split and piled for the woodstove. Once it finally gets to -25C or lower, then no more splitting til it warms up some. That's what the wood stash is for. (laugh)

I've been knitting on my Peacock Feathers shawl, but interrupted it to start a pair of simple garter stitch slippers for the son of my friend. I also need to get busy and put that zipper into the Up Country sweater.... you already heard the zipper story.

We had a productive trip to town yesterday, where I was able to replace the broken dishwasher with a new one. Yay! No more immersing my arms in hot water to do dishes. Can you tell I hate doing dishes? Takes away from my knitting time. Besides, the old dishwasher was OLD. Over 16 years old, so it served us well.

Have a good day everyone!

I will try again - I tried posting this morning to no avail. It is dark here again - 5pm. It seems like it has been particularly dark and rainy this last week - even when the sun was up there were black clouds that hid it.

I got up late and had a cup of tea this morning and have had a quiet day. DH is in St Louis - or actually at the moment he is supposedly somewhere between Chicago and here on his way home. He got delayed a bit in Chicago.

I am working on my January 6X6. I received mine from Rusty the other day. It got me inspired to get them all out and try to figure out how I will put them together. I have decided to use navy blue yarn to connect them.
