Don'tcha love that? My washer tripped the circuit repeatedly the other day, immediately followed by the drainage being completely lint-blocked. So I had a washer full of wet clothes and a 1/2 tub of water. We fixed both problems the next day, but it made for a pleasant evening trying to empty both the drainage tub of rinse water, the washer tub of rinse water and heavy dripping clothes. Freezing cold water in an unheated basement, on concrete floors. At 11pm. DH unclogged the drain and all is good; we also switched the washer to a circuit with very little on it (we think rearranging the living room and where things were plugged in affected the load on the circuit....my engineering electricity course is almost 15 years old now!).

That makes my problem sound simple! But I got to acquaint my daughter with how a laundromat works. I hadn't realized she had never been to one before, but then I hadn't given it much thought :P It looks like we will need to buy a new dryer.

It will be quite a while before I grumble to myself about having to go to the basement to do laundry now. LOL.

We had freezing rain on Saturday and a pile of snow overnight last night. Yesterday afternoon DH hauled out the "new" snowblower (bought Dec/04 and hardly used), and has discovered the electric start seems to be broken (shriek!!!). Oh well, at least he can still start it with the pull start, but I can't. Now we have to find the model # of the machine to find out if there is still a warranty on the bloody thing. Grrrrrrrr.

We drove 2 kms down to the local store/coffee shop and found the side roads to be incredibly icy - that freezing rain left everything just coated with ice. Give me back -25C and dry roads any day!!

I did have lots of time available to work on my Peacock Feathers shawl and my lacy vest.

I'm so cranky and tired, I think I'll go back to bed and pull the covers over my head (laugh). Unless the roads clear up, I guess I won't be going to my knitting group in Winnipeg tomorrow night (pout).

I was considering taking the whole wet mess to a laundromat and couldn't find one open late. I'm not grumbling as much about going to the basement either!
