Thank You All SOOO Much!!

Mar 19, 2006 7 Replies

I just popped in to read ALL the responses to my post ... thank you all SO much, you made my day. :-)

I am feeling a bit better some days, others I'm pretty tired and just want to sleep and watch tv. I'm not really having any pain inside to speak of, it's mostly the incision that's bugging me. It smarts, hurts, pulls ... and just gives me the heebie jeebies. LOL ...

It's healing slowly, but I still have to clean it twice a day ... and sit very slowly and get up very slowly, I look like I'm pregnant .. holding my belly and all.. LOL ... no more though .. not me.

I did go thru one spell where I felt sad that I could or would never have a child with Jim, even though we're separated, ... I love him still. That didn't last too long ... LOL

My cat is driving me crazy to play catch with her ... with the wool toys I crocheted... guess she really likes them, but mommy can't bend down to pick it up ... unless I'm sitting, then I use a fork to stab it and pick it up. LOL ..

Thank you all again! It was so nice to come in and see so many thoughtful and caring posts. It's nice to know we can touch each other, if only thru the monitor. :-)

I have been drawing (my other love) .... and making myself laugh with some of these funky funny illustrations. Perhaps I'll put them online and let ya'll see them sometime.

Jim did come over last night and bring dinner ... ate with me ... then stayed the night. Course, he mostly watched tv ... got mad if I wanted to talk in commercials ( he LOVES commercials), and was all around kinda touchy ... but he was here. He stayed the night .... and I made coffee this morning for the first time ... LOVE the smell of it .. but hate the taste.. LOL .. I made it for him.

We talked some and then he vaccuumed for me .... which really helped .. he took out garbage and fed the cats ... so that was nice... course had to ask him .. but still .. it was a big help. He also left $3.00 worth of quarters for the laundry during the week, and is now at the store getting me a few things. He's getting off work at noon to take me to my first check up tomorrow ... so I do appreciate these things he's doing.

As for emotion or affection ... I can forget it though ... but he is there for me for the other things. All though I have to go thru him getting mad when I ask .... and that's not fun ... he does eventually do it.

And guess what ?????? I don't like chocolate anymore!!!!! Can you believe that???? It must be hormones ... gosh! I'm craving lemon pie ... but when I eat chocolate I feel sick ... geesh!

Since I left one ovary, I don't feel any big changes yet .... and I'm going to try to go thru it naturally as I can if I can .. and if I need anything, my doctor uses a pharmacist that works with BIO-IDENTICAL hormones ... but I'll wait and see if I even need them. I just CAN'T believe that I'll never have another period! Seems like it's not real yet .. hasn't sunk in.

Well .. I've talked your ear off ... and I'm tired ... so back to tv.

Huggles!!! Dee

Awww, you're welcome, Dee. Drop in whenever you can. We'll be here.

Higs, Katherine

Hi DeeDee,

Glad to see you are feeling a little better today. Too bad you didn't have one of those long handle things that are used to pick things up or reach on high shelves. My DH and I have them, three in fact. DH uses one to pick up the pinecones in the yard as it's hard for him to bend over and get them. This way he feels he's helping me if only a little bit. That would make it easier getting the cat it's toy.

Come back and let us know how you are. You will find we are a very caring bunch of people. I'll also second what Debby said, if you want to send me a note offlist, feel free to do so.

Hugs,

Nora

Dee, You drop in whenever you CAN, and whenever you WANT! And if you need off-list 'email' company, I for one am volunteering! Hugs, Noreen

Glad you're healing. It takes time. There are a lot of things to think about, I was only 29 when I had mine (cancer) but after I healed, I can honestly say I never felt better! Since the doctor left one ovary, you shouldn't go through the change just yet. Re: the cats....do you have a dowel rod or longish stick? You could tie a cat toy on a piece of string to the stick kind of like a fishing pole and play with the cats that way LOL. They love it! We're here for you if you want to talk. Feel better soon. Marie and the cats

You could tie a string to one of the toys. You could then toss the toy to the cat and pull it back with the string.

Get well soon, Shana

Hello again, Dee Dee! So glad to hear you're healing even if it is slow, painful and frustrating.

I just loved what you said ... " It's nice to know we can touch each other, if only thru the monitor. :-)" ... and I feel exactly the same way. Pretty cool to have friends and ones who care about ya who are oceans away (or not), who you could pass on the street and not recognize ... but with whom you can chat and be comfortable, welcomed and loved.

Keep us posted on how you're doin'. Hugs and smiles, Eve

Dee Dee it is really good to hear form you and that you are at least a little better - I really would like to see some of those drawings - sounds like we could get a good laugh form them - and I am pleased that they are helping you too. Love and God Bless Gwen
