weaving numbers lettters all in plain cloth ,,,,,

I am weaving numbers and letters in plain cloth and start on the face , my mother`s face when she was younger , as pattern i look at a photo from the late 40s .... My uncle cut out and glued on wood ... it stood years in my Oma`s and later appeared in my mother`s house . As oin my other `faces` i don`t use many colors , just use warp and weft crossings ,,,, Than i can go on with intended images in this work ,,,, mirjam

Mirjam: That sounds very interesting. Have you ever seen faces done in blackwork? The shading in the lines of the faces is done by using different thicknesses of threads or lighter tones of the same color. Really neat! Marie and the cats
