Hi... I'm still around and kicking! Thank you for asking! :o) I just haven't been on the groups in a long time. I haven't been on this one in a few months... since the "bad guys" were sending out viruses and whatever other nasty things... and the yahoo group, well... for some reason yahoo (except my email accounts and photo albums) doesn't like me. Both the knitting group and Yahoo messenger freeze up on me every single time I use them... so I just don't bother with them anymore. I mostly use the computer to check my email and once in a while I'll play a game on it.

I just got an email from a friend a couple of minutes ago telling me that there is a rumor on here that I am a grandmother. News to me!!! In fact, after spending time around his ex-girlfriend's undisciplined (spoiled and very bratty... to the point of slapping people without even being told not to) little boy, Matthew is thinking that he "... may not ever want to have children at all if *that's* how it's going to be!" I've told him it depends on how the child is raised, and when he is a father then he will have a say in the raising of the child. So to set the record straight, no, I am *not* a grandmother... not even close!

Matthew and Christina broke up a month ago after getting into arguements EVERYday for over two months while she was staying here, but they are remaining friends. Matthew has moved on from that relationship and is looking forward to meeting a couple of girls (not at the same time, of course) who he has been chatting with since breaking up with Christina. He is meeting one of them on Saturday, and is hoping to meet the other one (who he seems to like better of the two, from chats anyway) next week... she's busy this week or it would have been her first. Unfortunately though, Christina has said that she doesn't want to move on to date anyone else. I hope for her sake that she changes her mind eventually.

Speaking of Christina, she had been staying here with us for the past three months, since her parents kicked her out of their home *again*. The child stayed with her parents, after they persuaded Christina to sign Joint Custody papers "so Christopher can have better health coverage through your father's workplace"... there has been an on-going court battle and they still have joint custody and are in control of all the decisions. She stayed with us for one month after they kicked her out the first time... then they persuaded her to move back "for the sake of your son" saying that everything was fine, but less than one month later she was kicked out the second time. Anyway... like I said, she and Matthew officially broke up a month ago (even though she continued living here until she got another place lined up), and she moved most of her belongings into another friends' rec-room a couple of days ago. She was here for supper last night.... she likes the "Boiled Dinner"... and gathered up most of the rest of her things to take with her when she left. There are still a couple of boxes in the garage and in our rec-room that we will be taking to her this weekend. Her stay in the other friend's rec-room is supposed to be temporary, as she has another friend who is *supposed* to be moving sometime after Christmas, and Christina may take over her apartment when she moves out of it.

In any case... life moves on. She just called me a couple of seconds ago (while I was typing this) to let me know the price of gas is cheaper in the city if I was heading that way. She told me a few days before moving out of here that she is finding it harder to move from here because "You have been more of a family to me than my own family ever was. I will miss you, and Matthew, and the dogs too!"

Oh, just to fill everyone in on this part too... I *have* been approved for Disability, but my file is on a waiting list along with a lot of other people's in the same situation... until my name comes up to the top they can't do anything about sending out any money yet. So, even though I KNOW I have been approved and will be receiving the money... it is still on hold for a little while. I was talking to someone at Disability yesterday and she said "We HOPE that everyone will receive their money before Christmas, but I can't make promises because we simply don't know how fast these files will be sorted through.". So, in light of that... Christmas *might* be late this year... but at least I know it will happen. :o)))

Well, I have a sink full of dishes hollering at me from the kitchen. I'll go wash a few up and put them in the rack to air-dry while I rest, then go back out and finish them up.

I will *try* to pop in from time to time.... I just hope the garbage that was going on before with the viruses, etc is over and done with.

*hugs* Gem

Greetings Gemini and welcome back to rcty. It's great to see you are still "kicking". You didn't mention how you are feeling but I hope your health is not any worse. You certainly had a terribly long wait to get the disability approval. I hope it isn't much longer until the payments start. As for viruses, I've never been infected by any here and I wasn't aware that there was a virus problem. Of course, I don't open attachments in newsgroup messages either.

So good to hear from you, Gem!!

I know things will start getting better for you. Through it all you've kept a pretty positive attitude, and that helps a lot :-)

Hee hee, I know I haven't been around much lately but I figured I had to have fallen into a hole to miss news of Gem's grandchild! Anyway, it is great to hear from you and it sounds like things are looking up. I'm glad Christina finally seems to appreciate you though I hope she moves out before Matthew gets too serious with one of these new girls. I can just see how THAT conversation might go (so explain again why your ex-girlfriend is living with you???).
