time for "what are you stitching"

Oriental Maiden but with the problems I've been having it might as well have been called the Oriental Madam

I think I will just "stuff" the pillow in, ad let it go. The whole thing looks pretty good.....and it will be ornamental, not the type of pillows DH beats up, and puts his head on.

I finished the Flamingo yesterday. Randee uses a lot of backstitching, and I have a little trouble with some of her designs, inasmuch..is it a

1/4 stitch, or 3/4 stitch. So, when all the backstitching is finished, I just go back and fill in the teeny white spots with the appropriate floss. It makes all the difference, now I will have three of hers hanging in my work room, and two more in the living room.

This afternoon, will try to finish the piece Nyssa charted for me, and take the lot of them to my framer.

Off to get my head "rebuilt" as DH refers to it.

Knew you guys would get it. Tho I had the name wrong, it's At the Water's Edge." Showed DH - he was quite pleased. It can go with the rest of the Zebra collection. And best part - not too large, so I can actually finish it ;^) It's been a while since I worked on white linen, but the only stitching is the black - so I think I'm going to use some nice overdyed black to give it a little depth. And I'll look at a few whites....

I'm sure that it will be just fine. When I do finishing for others, it's not a pre-made sham, so I've as a habit found it's better to stabilize the linen with a sewn-on backing. But, these Pine Mountain kits are on pretty hefty fabric - and I just left the last one I did without any extra.

Good idea. I tend to save up doing the backstitching, kind of do it in a run. I have the Water's Edge little sampler, and a couple of other pieces. They're fun to stitch. Must be they just make me feel like FLA. I'm sure they'll all look so nice together.

What a good girl you are! I'm hoping to finish a couple of pieces this weekend, and then switch to the 4 Stars piece again, as I need to get it to the framer around the beginning of August - or so. Just been working some other things right now - and the table in the breakfast room is covered with paints/sketching type stuff. And waiting for the needed additional silk to get here.

LOL - DH as never come up with that one. Have fun - I'm sure your head will be lovely as ever ;^) I did that this past Saturday. DH is off work today- it's our anniversary, and he had dentist appt (there now) so just ended up with taking the day. This way he could also get his head "rebuilt." He actually goes to the same woman as me - she does a great job with his curly hair, and is fabulous with the color - and I'm pretty happy with my haircuts. Though, letting it get longer again in the hot summer is kind of oxymoronic....

Very cool looking, but I think it would drive me bonkers to stitch.

Well, it's not a far trip for me ;^) we'll see - I think it'll be okay & prety quick once I get the fabric - at least it's all one color for the thread. Just with the black on white, definitely not travelling stitches on the back....
