Call for nominations and donations

From the "Send a Potter to NCECA" Scholarship Selection Committee

Exciting news!

After careful consideration, this year's nominee being sent to

NCECA Louisville (2007) has been selected. As you read this,

they are being notified.

Congratulations to our lucky recipient!

The Committee is now actively seeking nominations for the person

to be sent to next year's conference being held in New Orleans,

in March of 2008. Nominations will be held in the strictest confidence.

No public announcement of the selected person's identity will ever be given.

The potter to be considered must be subject to the following criteria:

  • shows a demonstrated commitment to working in the field of ceramics

  • has not previously attended an NCECA conference,

  • can be considered to be of legal age or above in the location of the

conference, (generally, 21 years of age in the USA)

  • be unable to otherwise afford attendance to the annual NCECA conference

at this time,

  • be genuinely interested in attending an NCECA conference

Verification of these criteria may be required.

Monetary donations are being sought for the purpose of sending an eligible potter

to the yearly NCECA conference. Any amount is appreciated, and ALL donations are

kept strictly confidential. The donations will be used for the following purposes ONLY:

Paid travel expenses to and from the conference-

Paid conference registration-

Paid lodging at the conference-

A per diem for meals

All other expenses will be the responsibility of the person selected to attend.

Please help us with this worthy cause. Give a potter a chance to expand their

horizons, help introduce them to many different aspects of ceramics, help them

find new directions. Help us send a worthy potter to NCECA.

is not connected with the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts.

The committee is comprised of a dedicated group of potters volunteering our time

to see that young potters get the chance to expand their horizons.
