nope, not google at all. had a wee gremlin get in and now its gone. grrrrrrr, tho ds is forbidden from using msn msg'r again. as he clearly has no idea what things can happen. i'm not positive that is the culprit but i'm guessing it could well be so why take chances. he just uses the puter, has no idea nor interest in how it works. shrug, jeanne

Yep, I know what you mean ... it sometimes scares the fudge out of me how much I depend on Google ... for everything from quiltin' goodies, to findin' a local pizza place to ... well, you get the picture. :)

So I'm assumin' it wasn't just Google? Or was it?? I couldn't see why a web site would be givin' you problems unless it were "down" ....

Howdy!

Dear Madam, You have exceeded your Google Search limit. Please go to another search engine to continue playing Try Your Luck. May we recommend "Yahoo" or "Rootle Your Stash". Best wishes, yada-yada, Search Engine Timekeepers Assoc.

My hubby's not the computer guy in our house, either - that'd be me - 'ceptin' I'm Mac, not PC (though I'm usin' one now). Since I do graphics for a livin', I've always been a Mac Geek.

I couldn't nigh tell you how to open a Microsoft app, but I can tell you how to use any graphics proggie or how to practically build a Mac from scratch! ;)

Anywho, I'm glad you got it sorted!! Sure is a nicer place with you in it! :)

Same here ... every time that I think I'm done and I've seen all I can see for now, I remember something else!! 'Course, here recently, I've not been able to get on at all 'cause of hubby's injury/recovery ... so I'm sufferin' from withdrawal!!! :)

My hubby's nickname 'round the office is "The Unabomer" because he HATES technology ('ceptin' for the tv and cable - and the odd SCUBA gadget) ... and what does he do for a livin'? Helps develop/test new technology for the Navy!! LOL!!

Meanwhile, I'm a techno-geek - I LOVE technology - the more useless and ridiculous the better (not to buy, necessarily, but to marvel at! maybe covet!!).

How 'bout you? Love it or leave it? :)

Hugs!! Connie :)

our first puter bought way back in '86, iirc was cuz i wanted one. we got a second hand C64. i got books from the library full of programs for it. stayed up til all hours typing those in. that puter was cool cuz you'd run the program and when it hit a 'typo/syntax error' it would tell ya and which line was wrong so was easy to find, correct and run again. made fix'n those typos real easy. didnt much care for the tape recorder ya had to use for keeping programs on tho. i figured out a fair big of code but never took it any further. i had little kids then and just wasnt the time to study it on my own and no time to attend courses either. then eventually the puters got fancier and i didnt really need to know the code. it was fun then tho. now i'm on puter #5 i think, not sure. i keep'em for a long time, upgrading some of the hardware occasionally. i love my toy!! cheers, jeanne

OMG!! That was our first computer, too!! My Dad and I used to compete on it - to see who do/program the coolest stuff!

I usually won, though - not 'cause I'm smarter or better at it or anything - I was in 10th grade on Summer break and could play on it all day and he had to work all day! ;)

Yeah, that was a pain - and soooooooo slow (at least to me it was - but then, I was borderline hyperactive!). Did you have games? We had Q-Bert and a couple of those mind games (you're walking in a dark forest ... and you come to a door ... what do you do? kind of thing).

Hey, hey, hey ... Go To Line 15! :) Remember?! :)

Yeah, same here ... my Dad had hoped (I think) that I would become a programmer - back in the days where bein' one was REALLY rare. But I ended up following in HIS footsteps! :)

I'm on ... computer 7? Something like that ... My Mac is about 10 years old and is my baby ... I keep upgradin' it and it keeps outshinin' nearly anything else I've ever owned. As long as my baby keeps on keepin' on, I probably won't move up to the Intels (though in my naughtiest moments, I WANT to SO badly!!).

If you buy a good computer, you can durn nigh upgrade'em endlessly. It probably costs much more in the end, but to me, bein' able to say "Hey, I did that" is worth it! :)

Damn, but you're bringin' back some wonderful memories ... I really do appreciate it. :)

Hugs!! Connie :)
