eVent (not event) source?

I have been having a really hard time distinguishing between eVent and event in search engines. I have read and heard a lot about eVent "fabric" or material or technology, but how do you get some? Is eVent a "thing" or a proprietary way of assembling different layers that no layman could ever achieve?

Is eVent similar to GoreTex and has to be lined and vented and all that or can I get some yards of eVent and start cutting?

eVent is in the waterproof-breathable family of fabrics, but whether it's a laminate or a monolithic coating I don't know off hand. check with the following sources, one of them must carry it.

Not all wpb fabrics need to be lined, that is a function of whether they are two layer ( yes to lining) or three layer (no lining required). Venting is a design feature based on pre-determined end use, it is not a requirement of the fabric. Which ever dealer you buy it from can advise you on appropriate linings if needed, and whether you should tape the seams or not.

small change

eVent is a membrane fabric similar to GoreTex but, supposedly, more breathable. You can get 2-ply (that needs lining) or 3-ply (that does not) - both types need the seams taping to be waterproof.

Unfortunately I don't believe it can be bought in small quantities for hobbyists. Sorry :(

If you prove me wrong and find some, please post here!
