Re: LA residents who know of the hawkers market

In rec.food.baking I read this message from "ME!" :

I am from Australia and visited USA - New Orleans and L.A back in 1998. Went >to the hawkers market (?) and bought a slice with pecans. Not a pie, was a >slice. Anyone know what I am on about as I would love a recipe - if only I >could remember what it was called!

Do you mean the Los Angeles Farmer's Market and pecan pie?

Probably Farmers Market, but not pecan pie. A slice with pecans on the top and mixed through but not a separate base.

Now this is a tourist spot as a bus took us there. Sorry I can not remember better. I did post years ago without any success.
