I had a hard crash in the middle of reading this Kandice, so I lost the original post. =o(

First, this is a stunning piece of jewelry....and I am not a red person. Second, I see you have already listed it on eBay, I wish you well in selling it. I have noticed that folks prefer to have higher ticket items start at really low prices so they can then have the fun of bidding them up. I have also noticed that when people come in and see lots of bids on an item, it spurs them to want to bid. Kinda like a crowded booth at a show...everyone wants to see, no one wants to miss out. I am not real fond of reserves, but they do seem to work well for cases like this. If it doesn't sell this time, and you want to list it again, try using the reserve and starting it low.

My true feelings however, are that this type of piece belongs in a gallery. It has so much going on....a person who shops at a high end store with extra spending cash is the person you want to attract for something like this.

Now, all that being said, I will be on the DIY Network television show shortly, demonstrating how to make a charm bracelet very similar to this. I used lampwork beads from Luann at Island Bead & Box, along with a ton of charms and silver beads, some Austrian crystal and a little Czech glass. You can see my version on my forums image site:

That's stunning Kandice!! As ever you are amazing. I think I'd have to keep that, though, because it is very unique.

Darn it all! We don't get that one on the satellite - just HGTV. Phooey! And I love your "Farewell to my Uterus" doll. I should have made something like that when I had my spaying done in 2002!

Ick - computer crashes suck!

I do normally start my larger bead sets at a low price on ebay, so I know what you mean. It is so exciting to see the bidding happen when I do that. However, in this case, I just couldn't do it. And I *hate* reserve auctions. If it doesn't sell on ebay, I will put it on my site to sell. I normally don't make pieces like this - I spend too much itme on the torch! But I wanted to for fun, because I love the Valentine color schemes. I am happy it's so pleasing to everyone. Congrats on your DIY show - that's very cool! I love the purple and silver charm bracelet.

I swear to dear God, I want to eat that bracelet! LOL -- it came out just lovely. Put it on Ebay and feature it.

WOW, that is really, really gorgeous! Holy smokes!

You know what I would do if I were you? I would feature it on your website, but not necessarily as a "for sale" piece. It's so stunning that it would probably generate quite a few looks (people emailing the link to their friends) and you might be able to sell it on an inquiry-only basis.

Alternately, wait until you have several sets ready for auction, and then list it on eBay as a Featured Item. It will get a lot more looks that way, and will also help pay for the featured price by generating looks for your other auctions.

i'd find a way to make it into a logo of some sort.

Time kind of froze for a few seconds when I opened up the picture. You know that moment...just before your jaw drops to the floor. Stunning work, Kandice.

to me. :) It's on the front page of the website linking into the auction. Making it into a logo isn't a bad idea! And featuring it on ebay sounds like a good idea, too. Although it's in two categories, so I have to decide whether to leave it like that or feature it in one category. Hmmmmmm.

Thanks MJ! I had been begging the docs for years and years to remove that offensive organ from my body. A celebration was in order when I finally got my way!

You still can! It is never too late to honor yourself! I would love to see it if you do.

Well, I for one am glad you took a little time away from the torch then. It is apparent you have some other creative juices that need to be acknowledged. =o)

Thanks...I am a bit miffed with them at the moment. I expected more advance notice of the airing...but thats ok...I am good at scrambling. =o)
