Almost back

I've had jury duty all month. It's Grand Jury, where all felonies are indicted before prosecution. We're a small judicial district, so we hear all felonies starting Wed of each week, usually Thurs and occasionally Fri.

Fully 75% of the cases are victimless crimes. No wonder we have 10 times as many people in jail per capita as England.

I've talked about being disabled by Depression. I hit over stimulation, "deer-in-the-headlights", way too soon. Sometimes I feel like I'm just feeling sorry for myself, or being lazy because I like doing stuff at home. Well, working two days a week at Jury Duty shows me that, unfortunately, I'm really not capable of doing more than those two days a week of easy work.

Anyway, this is my last week of it, and then I'll be back to "normal" (at least for me).

Are you finding it interesting, though, Tina? I've only been called for jury duty once and didn't get on a case. Only had to serve one afternoon since it was during Christmas week and nothing was getting done.

I wouldn't call jury duty "normal work"! It seems to me it would INCREASE depression. I know everytime I've had to go to court, it sure made me depressed! LOL I'm due in June 21st over a stupid credit card bill... yikes now why did I bring that up? I'm trying not to think about it.

What's in YOUR wallet? If it's a Capital One Visa, it will bit you in the a$$. LOLOLOLOLOLOL

I hope it's over soon, Tina!

I've never done Grand Jury duty, just the regular kind. I always wondered if I'd find it interesting.

Tina,

glad to hear. This is the first time of me checking in in a month or more, the only thing I managed to keep more or less current on is dishes and (way OT here) "Deadliest Catch", yeah, and laundry, but only because the kid is taking a summer class in Portland an DH is not teaching summer classes but fixing the roof (yes, creates laundry to wash too, but he's got a lot more old Tshirts than shirts he wears to stand in front of a class.)

The way jury duty works in AK sounds bad though. Being a furriner I never had to do it, but when DH was called so far it was always only for one trial.

Aloha, Maren (still hoping to get out of this particular project alive, and it ain't beads or jewelry.)
