I don't use mine. I mainly design on the string (wire). I don't even clip the end, I string onto the spool, crimp one end, then cut and crimp the other. Unless it's a design that I am working from focal out. Once in a GREAT while, I will dig out the flocked board.
Saw a lap desk at Michaels a few days ago, which had one on top...looked kewl! and "carryable".

Pile-mania afflicts me too. Right now I'm trying to tidy up, compile, condense, sort and get things better organized. I'm getting tired of not being able to find anything. I just HOPE I don't get tired of it and quit in the middel like I always do!
I have FIVE bead boards, kept switching from project to project, which seemed to work OK until the day I knocked one off the table. I cleaned them all up and now they are stacked nicely, neatly and uselessly somewhere. Tried the same thing with those organizers that go in drawers, had the same problem. Got to using shoe box lids, same problem. Sigh... I'm just messy I guess.
Don't feel bad Jerry... at first I envisioned a blanket made OUT of beads, and couldn't figure out why you'd put it in a cookie sheet. Then I read the posts about it being made of vellux or felt, and I wondered why you'd need to keep beads warm. LOL Talk about being out of the loop... hahahahahahaha Maybe I'm just loopy?
My first mental response was to think of the button blankets of the coastal NW.
