I did a craft swap on one of my parenting forums, and the mama that got my name made me a pliers envelope that I can use to transport my pliers to classes, etc. It ROCKS and is exactly what I need/wanted.

My DH had me make something similar for his woodworking tools. He has a bunch of hand tools he wanted to keep all together. I know they sell them at the wood stores for a pretty penny.

That's a great idea. I have some extra in my fabric boxes. I think I'll make one up for myself.
DH's woodworking tool pouch is made of canvas with rivets.
Matt's dad gave me one of his for Christmas. His dad's a woodworker by avocation and i had been loking for a tool roll for ages, so his dad gave one up for me. His mom has offered to make one to fit my stuff exactly, but the one i have is fine.
It's heavyweight natural-colored canvas. And it's padded, too.

We have some stuff in the shop called cotton duck. It's a canvassy, heavy weight cotton. It would be ideal.
I'm going to make myself one. I have a similar thingy for my repousse tools, I made it from leather and oiled it to keep my tools from rusting.
