This must be true cause I've seen auctions specify that "the coin is for size reference only, and not included in the auction." Which brings up another question...What do people who auction coins use for size reference?....hmmmm.... =oD..hee hee Dawn
LOL!...Too late to pass now....you already took us there!!!

Um... yeah, that's incredibly dumb. Read the description to see if it's the size you want, don' get mad at the seller for sending you exactly what they had for sale! LOL!
I just ordered some .7mm Stretch Magic, and if it's too thin to string lampwork on, I'm not gonna leave a disappointed neutral for the seller... duh!

I do that too, and furthermore, I always check the buyer's feedback to see if the seller left them a retaliatory feedback. I won't buy from a seller who does that, period.

Yep, good point.
I often buy a small quantity of something so I know whether it's really right, before I commit to a lot.

I think that the fact that Czech AB bicones are normally glass gives you a good argument that the seller was banking on people assuming glass, and therefore the auction was misleading by not specifically mentioning that they were plastic.

Which brings me to why I don't have anything in my pictures besides beads... I tried and tired to find a readily recognizable small item to put in my auctions, something that is always the same size and universally available.
If there is such a thing, I never found it.
BTW, I do see eBay auctions with coins from the seller's country of origin being used as size reference all the time... but that's to be expected, because it says what country the auction is posted from, and normally the coin and country match. What's funny is when the coin is from a TOTALLY different country from the country the auction was posted from... I go, "huh?"

It's fine for lampwork. Actually, I use a double strand of .7mm Stretch Magic, knotted separately, when I make a lampwork bracelet. They way, if one strand breaks, I am less likely to lose the beads.

Beads?

Um, a ruler? *grins*
M&Ms? Coke bottle caps?
Just joking, but it's amazing what things appear in very odd places.

I do try to be as accurate in my descriptions as possible. I go back and change descriptions all the time to give more clarity to a product, whenever I have a complaint or misunderstanding with a cusotmer. Especially for things that cannot be seen. I do try to include glass or sterling silver in all my auctions descriptions. I also try to ask my suppliers as much as I can about the beads I sell. I have called them from time to time when a buyer has a question I cannot answer. I don't want to misrepresent anything either.
THanks Amy:)
WOw! That is a great idea! I am using that. I normally don't make stretchy bracelets for that reason. I like the how easy they are to put on. But I cringe every time I do. Hoping it won't break! GREAT IDEA!!!
If I could find the World's Cutest Ruler, that was small enough to put in the pic with the beads and not be ugly, then yes.

Actually, a bottle cap might be my best bet. I think I'd want something non-megalithic yet recognizable... Grape Nehi, perhaps.

Oooh, good info and great idea! I have been wanting some but keep forgetting to ask what size is good, and then I just up and bought it.

A beaded ruler!

Did the original poster (I don't remember who it is anymore) email them and say, "Uh.....I sent you exactly what the auction SAID I'd send you." ???? ~~ Sooz To live a creative life, we must lose our fear of being wrong. ~~Joseph Chilton Pearce
