Christmas earrings

I've wanted to make some of these Swarovski earrings for years, but never had the right beads. I plan on making a bunch of these for small gifts this year:

The picture doesn't capture the sparkle of the AB crystals though. I'm going to make some green ones, too!

Now if I was a girl, I'd wear those and be proud! Those are so neat.... But, I'm a guy and have no holes poked in my ears.... I have a big one that goes thru my head from ear to ear though!

Thanks!

Give us time, and I'm sure we can design some jewelry for your hole that goes ear to ear!

Jerri, LOVE those earrings! Where do you get your Swaros? (if you want to share your source, that is). They really are a perfect design.

I got them from someone who'd bought a bunch in a group buy with Rainbows of Light. She had plenty of extra, so she sold me some.

Jerri, What is "Rainbows of Light"??

I love the earrings but what is the technical term? Are they rondelles or flat doughnuts or what? We might have to have Christmas a bit earlier due to a family members illness and they would be an ideal gift for the women of the family.

Hi Jan,

I'm not sure of the name, but they are 3700's.

According to the site you mentioned, they are called "Margaritas".....I have seen them quite a bit lately, but not made into earrings like you did. They are excellent!!

Cheers.....Heather

And they're really nice people too. That's where I get mine. (BTW: Access Crystal (I think) sells earrings very similar to hose as kits. I think they're complete kits, but you have to buy 3 dozen at a time or some such).

I looked at Rainbows of Light, and it _looks_ like it would be a good resource, but the site looks difficult to figure out. Or is it just me?

I thought it's kind of confusing, too, but I think it's just that there's so much there. If you're really familiar with a lot of the Swarovskis, I don't think it's too bad. The color abbreviations threw me. I'd always have to go back and look at a color chart until I learned a lot of them.

I would love some of those earrings, I think they look great.

I do not know if this post will get through, I have not been able to download newsgroups again since yesterday afternoon. Hugs Shirley

Well, I've ordered in supplies but have a question Do you have small beads between the margaritas?

Cheers, Jan who has had trouble getting the newsgroup.

I don't have any beads between the margaritas. I have seen them done with daisy spacers between, but I didn't like them.

As you should remember, I don't know much about any of this, but...... Do the margaritas come in colors? Green and red??

They come in lots of colours. I ordered mine from Shipwreck beads. I decided against colours as crystal goes with everything and I couldn't afford small colour lots.

cheers, Jan
