Christmas spider

For a start I hate spiders, they make my hair stand on end. However if I had your dilemma I would take a smaller crystal bead and bead around with AB crystal seed beads. Other wise known as a beaded bead. You would get a textured body. You would have to experiment to find what size core bead you needed to get to 12mm. The size 8 you have might work out.

The reason I'm making the Christmas Spiders is #1 the legend that goes along with them, and #2 because my youngest niece works in a pet store and had a plan to scare the heck out of her sister with the shedded skin of a tarantula, but didn't do it because she was afraid her sister would have a heart attack. My fear of spiders began when my two older brothers used to get them out of the outdoor loo. I was about 2 at the time and they used to drop them down my back. Shirley
