Experience with Beadcoop.com?

I have been trying to purchase some patterns through Beadcoop.com this afternoon, but have had no success. Every time I try to pay, the transaction is declined. I have tried using different cards with no success. I know that there is money in the accounts, so I assume that there is something going on at their end. I have purchased from bead-patterns.com for years, and never had a problem. Has anyone used Beadcoop - did you have any luck?

Thanks, Mandy

Does it say that your card was declined or some other message?

They were having problems with their shopping cart months back...my friend couldn't get her patterns and gave up till they corrected the problem...maybe the same problem is back?

I have had nothing but trouble with them. I wanted to try the free things first before I spent money and what a disaster. They had to change servers. Okay I was patient. But I tried last week and it still doesn't work. There if a yahoo group for beadcoop and if you post your problem they will take care of it. But for me if I'm going to spend money on something, I want to receive it with as little hassle as possible.

Try emailing Pamela Welborn, she has a post on 8-25 about the beadcoop.

Yes -- if you have to fight and struggle to complete the transaction, it's silly not to go to the competition, in my opinion. (I'm speaking generally here, not about Beadcoop.) ~~ Sooz

I am having the "fight and struggle" problem right now. I swear that since I opened my buying account I've had nothing but troubles... well, many good sellers as well, but far more problems with slow response/slow shipping than I ever did when I was using an account with 100+ feedback. I have one seller, though, who took days to get back to me with a combined total for my purchases, and then the total was WRONG... $6 more than it would have been if I'd just paid seperately. Then they invoiced me for ONE item with $16.00 in shipping (when the auction had said $3 for that item. Then I got an explanation that they were selling these "for a friend", which IMO is irrelevant because it's up to the seller to complete the transaction and answer questions in a timely fashion, regardless of who they're selling for. They actually didn't respond to me until I said "I've had an ebay account for my business for years, and this is the most difficulty I've ever had paying for an item".

It kind of makes me think that some sellers just blow off newer buyers. "Oh, she won't complain, she doesn't know anything yet". That kind of attitude.

In the meantime, I've tried to pay but the payment remains "unclaimed". I have the "friend" emailing me now, but they can't seem to send me a complete and correct invoice to save their life. I am just about at the end of my rope!

In the meantime, I paid $12 in shipping on a bundle of tissue paper on the 18th, and it's still not here. Does it cost $12 to ship a bundle of tissue paper? Hell no! If I'd paid $3 to ship it I wouldn't complain about it taking so long, but for $12 I want it RIGHT NOW. The seller won't respond to my perfectly friendly emails, either.

!!! What is UP with some sellers?

Boy, if I had had that kind of trouble right away, I probably wouldn't be the impulsive, compulsive spender that I am online...

Yeah, I know! Buying, for me, has always gone off without a hitch... with the exception of the calculator nightmare. I don't know what to think of what's going on, but I can't help noticing that when I mention I have a long ebay history, I get some service.

Well the people who have purchased my patterns have made it through the purchase process.... *g*

First thing I need to know is are you a member and logged in when you are buying? I know that buying is easier if you are a member. There is a yahoo group for the coop -

Yes - the site has had issues! We have been working on fixing them but came to the conclusion that the guy who did the code for the original site left so much garbage there that we are in the process of putting up a brand new site without his left over stuff.

One major problem is the get help link that people click on to get help. Sometimes it sends it and sometimes it just eats it!

The best thing to do if you are having problems until we get the new site up - it looks completely different, so you will know you are on the new site - Click on OUR DESIGNERS and contact the designer directly if you are having problems. As a designer, I am very happy over at the Bead Coop. I have contact with my customers and I have complete control over my patterns - almost as good as selling them on my own site! We have had a couple new designers join this month so we are growing more every day.
