favorite gemstone beads?

It's impossible for me to pick a fave -- I'd end up with a list longer than Celine's! I have gravitated towards warm hue stones like carnelian, poppy jasper, and garnet in the past, but I also appreciate cooler stones like peruvian opal, labradorite, and aquamarine.

And thank goodness turquoise is back. For such a long while it was only seen in Native American jewelry, which I love, but it's so dynamic.

My favourite was amethyst, but a few months ago I received a sample of multicolour moonstone from my indian supplier, and it is now my favourite :) I made the most beautiful bracelet with it.

Oh no! Now thats another stone I want. Thanks. :-)

And I forgot to put it on my 'favorites' list, but it certainly belongs there. I've done a few things for friends using it, and those were among a very few things that gave me a pang to part with...

And 'the earth seen from space' is a perfect description of it, IMO.

My gotta-haves, especially for faceted gemstones, are peridot, pink tourmaline, and Swiss blue topaz, aquamarine, appatite. And other colors of tourmaline.

For stone beads turquoise. And also rhodachrosite, crysacolla, tumbled crystal, fluorite, amozonite, citrine, blue rainbow moonstone, jade, peruvian opal.

And my LBS has a stone called Larimar.

color reminds me of what a light blue pearl would look like, and thoughit has luster, it's not like what a pearl has.Tina
