Gauze or organdy bags

I'm looking for those see through bags to put jewelry in. Big enough for a lampwork necklace and able to hold a business card. I'm finding that I like them for holding all the imformation together, and I still can see through and identify things. I want to use them also for transporting to prospective buyers (shops).

But I seem to be looking in all the wrong places. Maybe I'm not describing them right for Google. Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Tina

I just bought some at Joann's they were with the bridal stuff - favor bags. I know Michael's or AC Moore carries the larger ones- if I'm out and about tomorrow I'll check and get the "name" of them for you.

HI, you may just try walmart. I have seen them on ebay, bot forget the name they call them. I know walmart, and Joanns has them, they are in the cake decorating section, made by wilton, the ones I have seen anyway. I wish I could remember what they were called on ebay, or that I had saved the seller ID. I think the ones at walmart/joanns are like 12 for 3-4 bux HTH

Good prices, and she has some in larger sizes, like 6"x9" I think. Pretty darn colors, too!

They're called Bag-Its. Organdy bag with satin drawstring and beaded closure. I can't remember, but I think I got them for around 19 cents apiece by buying wholesale from this site. I use them a lot and customers like being able to choose a bag to go with their gift. HTH

They have those at my craft store in the bridal section. But of course you can get them much cheaper on the web. I think FMG has them, and I'm assuming Rio does too.

Many thanks to all of you in helping me find bags! I see that my first mistake was in searching for gauze or organdy. "Sheer" was the word I needed.

I'll take me a while to check out all the sites to find a regular supplier.

They are in the Rio Grande packaging catalog. If you let me know how many and what size I can send you the price an order number. I think Fetpak may have these, too.

FWIW, instead of fabric bags, I've been using these cool handmade paper envelopes from RG and they end up at around 40 cents apiece.

Rio was the first place I looked, since I was putting in an order anyway. They don't have anything in sheer that's neutral though, and their sizes are limited.

I want something sheer enough so I can identify what's in there, and neutral enough that it doesn't clash and muddy what it is, and big enough that I can put necessary information in it. My card. Description. Possibly bead makers card. Etc.

The ones that Rio has that really tempt me are the "tulip bags", made of two colors of organza, with long corner on opposite sides that you tie together.

I have found those in the wedding supply section of craft stores and The Paper Factory. I use them a lot as well.

Christy, Do you really like these? I have quotes from FavorMart and PouchMart for an order, but these are cheaper (although removing all the header cards will be a hassle. :-) Slightly different sizes, but that would be ok. I have samples from FavorMart, and they're very nice.

Thanks, Kar>

Yes, I really do. People enjoy having the ability to color coordinate the bag with the purchase, and the hangtags I make have all my pertinent info on them already, so all they do is pick and choose. The recipients like them because they can carry jewelry in their purses, or use them to travel with or re-gift with them. I look at it as a nice added touch that didn't have to be there. Undoing the cardboard they come with is a bit of a pain, but I do that when I get my order, so it's a one time thing. Can't beat the price and the range of colors is nice.
