Great Bead buyer story....

I've been getting emails from some friendly folks in this discussion group, so I thought I would join in. Seems like a nice place. I wanted to share this little bead story with you. There is this sweet little lady who occasionally comes by to place a custom order. She very cleverly mixes them with other silver beads she finds. Once she brought her sister to see my studio, and order some more beads. These two are delightful women with delicious southern accents, manners, and charm that's hard to find anymore. Bernie wanted to come by last week to look through my "seconds", if it "wouldn't trouble you too much." I was hesitant at first, I kinda hate to have my "uglies" out there, but it was just too hard to say no to this sweetheart. Anyway they really aren't bad beads, they just get thrown into a pile on a shelf, because I didn't like the colors, or didn't turn out as planned. As I worked on some things for an upcoming show, she quietly examined each bead in the pile. She picked out some that she liked and asked me to see if there were any other goodies that she missed. I pointed out a few more, then I started to add up the total. As I started adding, $2, $3, etc. I noticed she had picked out one very large, very experiment of a bead. I told her I was giving her that one for creativity if she could find anything to do with it! When I finished the total, it came to $80. I added it twice to make sure. I couldn't believe that I had that many beads in that pile, further more having some one to buy them!! After she left I felt as if I had just found money under the mattress. Well, that would make for a wonderful end to a great little bead story, but it doesn't end there. I came home from setting up the show a few days later, and what was on my doorstep? A loaf of fresh homemade bread and Mayhaw jelly, from Bernie. It made me so happy I wanted to cry! I have never cared less about eating too many carbos, than at that moment. I enjoyed every bite. I called this bead angel named Bernie to thank her. She told me she brought it over because she is enjoying her beads!

Now THAT is a FABULOUS story! Thanks for sharing, though it would have been nice to have had a smidgen of that bread ;-)

With all of life's frustrations... I have come to celebrate the moments that are not frustrations. Thanks for all the good comments. I was afraid it might be thought of as too good to be true!
