My post for the week

OK, having promised to post about beads once a week, I'm having trouble coming up with something to say this week.

I've been working on scans for new postcards. So far, I've done one showing my Etched dichro pendants - email me if you would like one. I've ordered another one with two semiprecious bracelets. These scans were amazingly hard to do, I must have done one of them at least 25 times. Good thing I'm stubborn.

I've gotten these postcards from Vistaprint

They are smaller than the usual postcard size, but I use envelopes to mail them anyway. And, the prices are amazingly reasonable. I also get my business cards from Vistaprint, have been very pleased with their service.

Other than that, I haven't done any designing this week. Last Friday I did the jewelry class/party. Turned out to be good financially and I had a good time though there were some challenges I didn't expect.

I'm so glad March is here - can't wait for St. Patrick's Day, the International Flameworking Conference and Whole Bead and Urban Glass shows in NYC. It's gonna be a beady month!!

Hope all is well. Post what you're doing,ok?

I want a postcard!! I got one from you a few years ago. I think it was that year we were both in the 1000 Glass Beads book!

Let's see... what am I doing right now? I've been working on the Commissioned Brooch from Hell. I've ripped it apart 3 times now. :( I'm using a vintage 2 holed base metal piece, embellished with a center cab & rhinestones. It's an odd shaped piece that does not take well to fitting seed beads around it, but I'm trying to do just that by using vintage 1900's seed beads in a peyote stitch on pellum. It might be done in 2 or 3 years... lol

I haven't been as far as looking at newsgroups in so long that I'm having problems getting back in. Doesn't help that for whatever reason google thinks my IP address is in the UK (at least I speak the language, it could have been worse).

Postcards sounds neat, I haven't gotten as far as checking my findings to determine what to use my Ben Franklin 40% off coupons on, i.e. I haven't opened my 'bead bucket' in 2 weeks.

- I store my color sorted Job's Tears, findings and seed beads in a bucket with a lid so it's easy to take to the market. I do sometimes make or fix jewelry at the market, but last weekend I decided I was too tired to go to begin with. -, but I did order a set of beads from Kalera (had to have those, even if my bead budget (got to pay for itself from sales) was exhausted from buying some semiprecious beads at a sale last month some time).

It's been all work, sometimes 3 programming languages in a day, but it looks like I may be getting to the end of the tunnel, leaving just barely enough time and energy for groceries, cats, laundry and such. I did manage to pick something on the order or 15lb Job's Tears that aren't sold yet, the extra hour of daylight we get in the afternoon by now definitely helps with that. And some of those are even sorted and cleaned and ready to sell. And I got most of the taxes done and filed, all that's left to do there is the rest of the state form, we owe about $90, so that's where I stopped, and got the FAFSA filed. Sometimes it's beyond me how my poor DH puts up with me.
