Need advice (not OT)

I worked on my website a bit, and would like to know what you all think...

Does it look right, does it scroll left and right etc.

Any comments are appreciated.

Okay I see a few things.

When you click on bags you have to click back to get out. I would suggest putting and up or back link so you can move from page to page easier. Do you have at least one photo of your bags? If so, put one on the page and explain it's under construction. Folks like to see a photo on most pages (at least I do).

The dolls link does not work for me at all. I've tried several times.

I suggest hiding the eBay auctions link unless you are going to use it immediately. At least have a functioning link to get to your about me page if that's possible.

I like the over all feel and look of your site. You have many wonderful pieces! I like the RAW comission work. Beautiful.

When you have more time I would like to see more description of each piece, beads used and if you know why you used those colors. What inspired you to make that piece. I enjoy reading the stories behind the pieces as well.

Thanks for sharing your beautiful art with us!

I like what you have so far. I want to see more pictures!

Thanks guys. I will be revamping the jewelry part soon, thats why I didn't add more pictures or descriptions right now. I will be having a gallery where people can see the works that have already been sold/given as gifts so they can get an idea for custom work etc. And I will also have a gallery of current auctions or pieces for sale.

I know the dolls link doesn't work, because that page doesn't exist yet. I will be making it soon.

I forgot about having a bag that I could take a picture of (I have the one that i made to put my mom's bracelet and earrings in still). I will see what I can do about getting a decent picture of it, and adding it to the bags page.

I will hide the auction link for now too (thank you Starlia for that suggestion.), I forgot it was on the page. I had made my index page up a while back and must have missed it last night when I was trying to work on it a bit.

More comments would be appreciated from different people who have smaller or larger screen resolutions. At present my settings are 1024 by 768, so I have a fairly large viewing area.

I'm glad I could help. Everyone here helped me so much when I got my pages up and running. I still have them all.

Your "little beader" is darling! My grandsons love to bead too.

I like your background colors, they are very soothing, and in my favorite color palette.

Thank you Karleen. I tried to be a bit different, and not make every page the same, but at the same time, keep the colors coordinated with each other.

My only comments:

On the Jewelry page, the pics are obscuring the text at the top of the page. This is happening in Netscape and in Firefox.

You have the word Links underlined, which led me to think it was a link to your links list, which is not the case. I'd change the word to 'menu' or remove it completely.

Also, don't apologize for how long (or for how short of a time) you do things. Be positive on the front page - SELL yourself AND your jewelry.

Thank you Barbara. How do I fix the pics so they aren't obscuring the text for Netscape and Foxfire. I don't want to have potential customers turn away, because something isn't right. Do I just move them down or what? (I am not an expert in web design.) I use SiteSpinner V2 to build my webpages. I don't hand code my sites, I use a "cut and paste builder" (I think thats what they are called) where I just place the text, pictures etc where I want them and the program writes the code for me.

Thank you for the suggestions on the Links menu, and also the front page.

I'd say put things in a table with plenty of cell padding in between. Helps to keep things aligned very well and if you don't use borders, noone would know unless they looked at the code. :-)

Hmm...here's the interesting part, I just looked at it again, and the text is fine, but when I enlarge the screen text, the pictures obsure the text again. I really think using a table in this page would solve the problem.
