I asked about power pro thread a little while ago, since I couldn't find a needle that this stuff would go through. Someone said that it goes through a number 10 beading needle, well I will be damned if can get this stuff through a # 10 beading needle. Has anyone else had problems with this stuff going through a needle that you can use for beading? Enquiring minds what to know. Roxan

That whole crystal kimono was made with PowerPro in a #12 needle. What size PowerPro are you using? For white, I buy the 8 lb. test, which has a 1 lb. diameter.
I did try the Cabela's RipCord SI 15 lb. diameter this afternoon, and it will NOT go through a #11 needle. It goes through a #10, but just barely. What I did was to flatten the end of the line by pinching it between my fingernails and giving it a bit of wax to stiffen it. It then worked all right.

That's the link for the white Power Pro from Cabela's. I use the 8 lb., which is about the same diameter as Nymo.

I haven't even tried to get it thru the needle. I got few meters for free from local fishingshop. I didn't want to buy the whole skein/whatever before I'd tried it out first. It's really expensive here btw. It's $34 :( I have been thinking what it costs overseas...

I can't remember off hand what size of PowerPro I have but I think it's
30 lb. I used it with seed beads without a needle and it worked okay. It was a little tricky and I thought if I did it aga>
vj found this in rec.crafts.beads, from "roxan" :
]30 pounds test
this is probably the problem. i use 30-lb test, but only on HEAVY beads. it's generally so stiff at that weight that i don't need a needle.
